Have a blessed day!!
Good afternoon Sir's!
As your strength coach, it's my responsibility to arm you with the information that will bring your athleticism to a level not once known! :)
Because the season is about to start, I will arm you with the things you can start doing NOW to elicit the positive changes you want be reflected on the field.
Let's start by finding a football player on Youtube that you most want to be like. This player can be college D1-D3, NFL, UFL, CFL or even a player your age.
When you find this player online, study his movements pre snap, during and after the play. How does he handle himself with his team mates...with the opposing team? Study how he approaches the ball, a slot, how he carries the ball, throws the ball, catches the ball. How he zeros in on the one carrying, catching or throwing the ball? How he runs, jogs, sprints, blocks, tackles, etc.
Study EVERYTHING about this player and when you're done...close your eyes and VISUALIZE yourself as this player! Everything you just saw on countless videos that gave you goose bumps and chills are the same characteristics that you NOW POSSESS!!!
Play some UPLIFTING and EMPOWERING music during your visualizing!!! I would spend at least 10 minutes with my eyes closes feeling what it's like being this athlete I've been studying.
Every night before you go to sleep and every morning before you start your day, VISUALIZE yourself as this athlete with skills that WILL bring your game to the ELITE level you desire.
You see, your brain doesn't know the difference between dreaming (visualizing) and the real thing when awake. The more and more you VISUALIZE the more neuro-pathways (SHORT CUTS) are created inside the brain to tell it, "We now have NEW skills that we can use!" Once the brain KNOWS it has new skills...it will recruit the right muscle contraction sequence to produce NEW movement!!!
And, it's VERY IMPORTANT to understand that when you say that you now BELIEVE you have new skills and are a better baller today than yesterday...you in fact are saying, "I am CERTAIN that I'm a better baller than yesterday!"
You have belief systems that govern the way you operate as a young man, student, son, ball player, etc. So, if you "believe" you're possessing new skills and are better everyday, your brain is saying, "IM CERTAIN!" that said, when you make mistakes on the field...enjoy learning other ways of using your NEW skills. ENJOY the process of learning how it feels to be AMONGST the ELITE at Shorecrest Prep!!!
So, that's your homework if you're up to improving your game from the mental aspect. If you have any questions, please hit me up!
Have a great day gentlemen!!!
