Too often people come to me with the goal of losing massive amounts of fat LBS and they are NOT really ready to do what it takes to make it happen!
If the person needs to lose 50 LBS...They have this AMAZING ASSumption that the fat burns during every one of the workouts, when they are sitting in their chairs at work and home, etc.
They think that they should be burning 12 LBS per week just like those contestants on the Biggest Loser...It doesn't work like that...Especially if you are NOT able to workout 6 hours a day, have a full time chef, trainer and doctor to give you your shots of B12 and check your urine for signs of fat usage.
In theory, they are set on doing everything and everything under the sun to burn those LBS...But when the sweat starts to drop, breathing starting to be labored, muscles burn more that hands on stoves...they call it quits!
The real issue isn't the weight...its what has led to the weight in the first place. This is where we dive in to the "WHY."
Why did we get to be over weight?
Why did I let myself go like this?
Why am I so out of shape?
Why do I always quit when it gets too hard?
Why can't I ever stick to a lifestyle changing routine?
Why, why, why....
Ill tell ya one of the reasons, you stopped believing in yourself and started to link pain to losing weight and getting in to "shape." You started to BELIEVE that the pain of extra sets and reps outweigh the fat accumulation. You started to BELIEVE that you aren't good enough to lose the weight and love yourself!
Lets face it...Over time...You became lazy and it makes you feel like crap watching the others reach their goals and celebrate with their loved ones over photo comparisons of the ol' days when they were too fat to sit in the airplane seat. NOT ANYMORE!!!
Or, you're the person who works out every day and all day and still cannot lose that fat. You KNOW the real issue and you tell me frequently either jokingly or angrily...You just cannot seem to stop your excessive eating.
Ok, so the burning of the calories isn't the issue...its that you cannot stop the over consumption of calories because of a deep need for something that food gives you.
I know its easier said than done, but stop focusing on the scale and focus on how you feel. Measure your progress by celebrating the small accomplishments and I promise you...they will add up to MASSIVE success.
NOTE: this doesn't excuse you from seeking help from someone who can help with the addiction to food or whatever else that is keeping you from getting to the top of the mountain. You MUST accept the fact that you NEED help and not ignoring it by seeking diet doctors, pills at GNC, the newest diet fad, etc...these are all things that are BAND AIDS to cover a hole in your heart bleeding out!
This is YOUR LIFE...Start today by renewing yourself and your mind...I can only help if you ask!
BUT, I am NOT going to do the work for you!
Have a blessed day and safe New Years Eve!!
